OPEN WATER SCUBA

CERTIFICATION COURSE

This PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Open Water Scuba Certification Course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to safely enjoy recreational scuba diving and leads to your lifetime license to dive.

Your Splash Down Instructors will make sure that this class is comprehensive, lively and fun!

Cost: $425. Includes Certification fees, Classroom sessions, Pool sessions, Open water sessions, Book Set, Complete Scuba Eqpt Rental. & PADI Certification Fees. Students must supply their own mask, fins, and snorkels. Additional fees include any open water weekend costs including permit fees, and hotel.

Course Itinerary
 

Class Orientation (6-8:30):  Introduction to the PADI Open Water Scuba Course, complete required paperwork, pay for class, receive books, meet your instructor and class participants

HW:  Read Chapter 1 and complete Knowledge Review #1 of your Open Water Manual. 

 

Academic Session #1 (6-8):  Introduction to the Underwater World, Diving Equipment, and the Buddy System. Take Quiz #1.   

HW:  Read Chapter 2 & 3, and complete Knowledge Review #2 & #3.

 

Pool Dive #1:  Time and Place TBD

 

Academic Session #2 (6-8): Adapting to the Underwater World & The Underwater Environment.   Take Quiz #2 & #3.   

HW:  Read Chapter 4 and How to Choose a Computer book

Complete Knowledge Review #4 in the Computer book.

 

Academic Session #3 (6-8): Health for Diving, Breathing Air at Depth, Accessory Dive Equipment and Use of the Dive Tables. Take Quiz #4. 

HW:  Read Chapter 5 and complete Knowledge Review #5 in the Computer book.

 

Pool Dive #2:  Time and Place TBD 

 

Pool Dive #3:  Time and Place TBD 

 

Academic Session #5 (6-8):  Review Knowledge Review 5. Final.

           

OW Dives 1 & 2: OW Dives – Time and Place TBD.

 

OW Dives 3 & 4:  OW Dives - CERTIFICATIONS AWARDED!                 

Participants pay for their own transportation, lodging & entrance fee for the OW Weekend.

            Students need to provide their own mask, fins, and snorkel for this class.
